Sometimes the best way to use technology is to find a way to slow down.
I’ve been thinking a lot about the “Tech Frontier” lately—not as a place for more gadgets, but as a space where we can finally offload the busywork. We often get caught up in the “more, faster, better” loop, but the real win isn’t just finishing a task in half the time. It’s about what you do with the time you get back.
For me, it’s about using these tools to handle the technical heavy lifting so I can get back to the things that actually require a pulse: a long hike, a conversation with the kids, or finally sitting down to write for the sake of writing.
The goal shouldn’t be to let the tech take over our lives; it should be to let the tech clear the path so we can actually live them.
A Small Shift in Perspective:
- Delegate the Routine: Let the tools handle the data and the “how-to” so you can focus on the “why.”
- Protect the Analog: The more our screens do for us, the more valuable our time away from them becomes.
- Intentionality: If you use a shortcut, make sure you’re happy with where you’re headed.
What’s one small thing you’ve offloaded to tech recently that gave you a bit of your day back?
